Michael Discepolo is a partner in the Firm’s Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) practice. He has advised public and private companies of all sizes across the life sciences, technology, financial services, renewable energy, and manufacturing industries.
Prior to joining Marcum, Michael served as a senior manager at a specialized financial consulting firm where he supported clients in complex technical accounting matters, serving both private and public companies in interim management roles. He assisted clients and led engagement teams through complex transactions including acquisitions, carve-outs, debt and equity issuances, reorganizations, and initial public offerings. Michael served clients in several interim controller and CFO roles providing continuity and integrity for daily accounting, finance, and business operations. He also supported clients with complex mergers & acquisitions in many ways including buy-side and sell-side support, day one accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and other post integration matters.
Previously, Michael served as an auditor and advisor to a Fortune 100 financial services client at a global accounting firm. He was responsible for determining operational and financial statement impacts associated with management’s decision to enter into significant transactions for executing all phases of the audit engagement procedures, including, planning, SOX 404 testing, substantive procedures, evaluation of financial statement and related footnote disclosures (SEC & Statutory) to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
