About Maria

Maria Rivero has more than twelve years of experience in public accounting. After a decade of providing audit services to publicly and privately held companies, including leading the audit engagements, Maria joined the Firm’s National Professional Practice Group. In this capacity, she is involved in internal inspections, quality review process, and developing internal technical trainings.

Maria has a depth of experience with manufacturers, distributors, and service providers in the food and beverage, cannabis, technology, and other commercial arenas. With native proficiency in Spanish, she has experience with multinational businesses.

Maria is a Marcum certified trainer and has extensive experience developing and facilitating CPE courses on national and regional platforms.

Since 2019, Maria has served as a board director for the Miami Chapter of ALPFA and has been a proud ALPFA Member since 2015. As a leader with the organization, Maria has organized events attended by hundreds. She is a diversity advocate and seeks to empower and develop the next generation of Latino leaders in the business community.

At Marcum, Maria has served as the co-champion of the Hispanic/Latinx Associate Resource Group since 2019. She has developed events and initiatives to foster inclusion, professional development, employee retention, and recruitment of new talent.
