About Barbara

Barbara Stofflet is Marcum’s Chief Quality Officer. As the Chief Quality Officer, she oversees the design, implementation, and operation of Marcum’s system of quality management in accordance with applicable Firm methodologies, policies, and procedures, as well as professional and regulatory requirements.

Barbara brings over 25 years of public accounting experience in accounting and advisory services to large and middle-market public and private growth-oriented organizations in a variety of industries, including professional services, manufacturing and distribution, technology, and financial services. Her experience on complex engagements provided her with an in-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and PCAOB standards, including SEC reporting matters, accounting for multifaceted mergers and acquisitions, leading or assisting in the completion of initial public offerings, application of complex accounting principles and evaluating compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Throughout her career, Barbara has worked closely with executives, boards of directors, audit committees, and representatives of various regulatory agencies and professional associations in her pursuit of assurance engagement quality.

Before joining Marcum, Barbara was the Partner-in-Charge of Quality at a large accounting firm, an Inspection Leader at the PCAOB, and worked for 14 years at one of the global six accounting firms.
